Job summary

World Wide Technology, Inc. seeks a VMware Systems Administrator to support and optimize a virtualized Navy infrastructure. The candidate will manage ESXi hosts, vCenter clusters, and perform lifecycle tasks while collaborating with Windows/Linux admins to ensure a secure, high-performing environment.

Ideal candidates have DoD clearance and 5+ years IT experience with VMware, plus IAT II certification. The role is on-site at Honolulu, HI, with a strong focus on documentation and on-call

Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent years of combined experience and training.
• 5+ years of IT experience with 1-2 years of hands-on experience with VMware
• DoD 8570 Certification: IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CISSP, or equivalent).
• 3-5 years of experience administering VMware vSphere environments.
• Strong understanding of ESXi, vCenter, clusters, HA, DRS, and vMotion.
• Experience with virtual networking (vSwitches, distributed switches, VLANs, NIC teaming).
• familiar with SAN/NAS storage and datastore management.
• Experience with Windows or Linux server administration in virtualized environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter Server.
• Monitor and optimize VM performance, capacity, and resource allocation.
• Perform VM provisioning, configuration, cloning, snapshots, and lifecycle management.
• Manage and troubleshoot vCenter, ESXi, and related VMware components.
• Support storage integration with VMware, including SAN/NAS connectivity.
• Maintain high availability features such as HA, DRS, and vMotion.
• Apply patches, updates, and firmware upgrades to VMware hosts.
• Troubleshoot virtualization issues across compute, storage, and networking.
• Collaborate with Windows/Linux admins to support workloads.
• Maintain documentation and participate in on-call rotations.
