Job summary

MatchPoint Solutions in Dallas, TX is seeking a VMware Administrator for a 12-month engagement onsite. You will administer and troubleshoot large-scale VMware environments, ensuring VM performance, availability, and operational stability.

Responsibilities include diagnosing CPU/memory/storage/network issues, performing migrations, coordinating with application and infra teams, and generating reports with vROps.

Qualifications

• Diagnose and resolve VM performance issues across CPU, memory, storage, and network.
• Investigate and resolve virtualization-related incidents and outages.
• Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams to analyze and troubleshoot issues.
• Manage cold and live migrations, snapshots, and cloning activities.
• Manage storage vMotion as part of storage lifecycle operations.
• Knowledge of DRS, vSphere HA, and DR concepts.
• Conduct RCA and recommend preventive actions.
• Generate operational and performance reports using vROps.
• Handle vCenter authorization and authentication issues.
• Support ITIL processes including Change, Incident and Problem management.
• Provide technical guidance and collaborate across teams with strong communication skills.
• Work with application teams to correlate hypervisor metrics with OS/application metrics.
• Provide insights to improve VM placement, resource utilization, and capacity planning.
• Ability to work independently in a high-availability 24x7 production environment.
