Job summary

United Way of Greenville County seeks a VITA Program Coordinator to support the administration of the VITA Coalition and oversee service delivery across partner sites during tax season and year-round tax services.

You will manage site relationships, coordinate schedules, train volunteers, and ensure quality tax returns are prepared by certified volunteers, while collaborating with internal teams to engage the community.

Qualifications

• At least three years of professional experience required.
• Experience in volunteer management and tax preparation or tax-related services is preferred.
• Ability to complete IRS Basic, Advanced, Site Coordinator, and Foreign Student Scholar exams with 80%+.

Responsibilities

• Lead/manage relationships with current and prospective VITA site partners and expand the Coalition VITA network.
• Coordinate site locations, schedules, hours, staffing, and service delivery plans for in-person, drop-off, and virtual tax services.
• Oversee site establishment/closeout, inventory, equipment, supplies, and site flow for a positive taxpayer/volunteer experience.
• Manage volunteers and sites, ensure coverage for each shift, and provide on-call support as needed.
• Ensure returns are prepared within VITA scope by certified volunteers; monitor quality and compliance.
• Compile/track program reports to monitor progress toward goals and take action to stay on track.
• Collaborate with Community Impact, Marketing, and partner organizations to recruit and engage volunteers; maintain ongoing relationships.
• Serve as primary point of contact for volunteers, provide communication, support, and feedback to improve the volunteer experience.
