Job summary

HII's Newport News Shipbuilding division is seeking a capable engineer to analyze digital design data and produce accurate Visual Work Instructions (VWIs) for manufacturing. You will interpret design elements and ensure VWIs meet installation requirements, using CAD tools and collaboration with teams to resolve issues.

The role requires an Associate's Degree with 3 years of relevant experience; NNPS or NNS Apprentice School equivalents are acceptable.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in relevant field and 3 Years of relevant experience.
• Equivalent credentials may satisfy minimum qualifications (NNPS, NNS Apprentice School, or equivalent).
• Experience with manufacturing, shipbuilding, or related trades is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze digital design data and use VWIs to meet manufacturing and installation requirements.
• Interpret design elements and add parts to VWIs as needed.
• Advise management on work progress, material availability, and potential production issues.
• Use CAD tools such as Teamcenter, NX, SAP, NGP and TDP; incorporate required changes.
