Job summary
Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking a skilled professional to analyze digital design data and produce Visual Work Instructions (VWIs) that align with build plans. The role requires proficiency with CAD tools such as Teamcenter, NX, SAP, NGP and related software, and the ability to incorporate design changes for manufacturing and installation.
The candidate will advise management on work status, material availability, and potential production issues to ensure productive, quality outcomes.
Qualifications
- Must have Associate's Degree in relevant field or equivalent qualifications.
- NNS Apprentice School or NNPS graduates acceptable in lieu of degree.
- High School/GED with 2 years related experience or 4 years non-related experience acceptable.
Responsibilities
- Analyze digital design data and utilize these products with build plans to create quality Visual Work Instructions (VWIs).
- Interprets and adds design elements to meet manufacturing and installation requirements.
- Advises management on status of work, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure smooth operations.
