Visual Merchandising Specialist

As a Visual Merchandising Specialist at Wayfair, you will be the creative force behind in‑store presentations, translating seasonal strategies and brand standards into inspiring, shoppable spaces. You will support floorsets, signage, merchandise flow, and visual operations that elevate the guest experience and drive business results. Your flexibility, precision, and collaborative spirit will be key in a fast‑paced setting.

Responsibilities
  • Execute visual standards across the store, including seasonal floorsets, marketing signage, lighting displays, and basic installations such as wallpapering or electrical updates.
  • Collaborate with leaders and team members to align visual priorities with sales trends and store goals.
  • Perform daily and weekly walk‑throughs using the Visual Merchandising Checklist to assess and improve store presentation.
  • Maintain reliability by arriving on time and ready to work, and communicate proactively when challenges arise.
  • Adapt quickly to product launches or shifting visual priorities, staying calm and focused.
  • Use product knowledge, judgment, and trend insights to enhance display decisions that support the guest experience and sales.
  • Share creative ideas for display flow and styling to help customers envision possibilities.
  • Receive and apply feedback from store leaders and visual managers, translating it into polished execution.
  • Engage customers as needed to support a friendly, visually inspiring shopping environment.
  • Work efficiently with changing priorities, new promotions, and evolving product assortments while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Support cross‑functional store goals by cross‑training in sales and back‑of‑house operations, flexing to meet customer and business needs.
Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of in‑store visual merchandising experience; background in home furnishings or interior design is a plus.
  • 1–3 years of retail or customer‑facing sales experience, preferably in home goods, décor, or furnishings.
  • Experience reading and executing store layouts or planograms.
  • Ability to work a retail schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent organizational skills, multitasking, and time‑management with the ability to prioritize on the fly.
  • Comfortable using visual merchandising software, devices, and other store tools.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, and reaching; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, and crawling.
  • Regular stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the day.
  • Lifting and moving up to 50 lbs independently; heavier items may require assistance or equipment.
  • Good close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Comfortable in environments with varying temperatures.
  • Tolerance of moderate noise levels and physical activity.
  • Adherence to safety protocols with minimal exposure to workplace hazards.
