Job summary

Ashley Furniture Shawnee is seeking a Visual Merch Tier I for the Shawnee, OK location. The role is on-site, full-time, with a Monday–Friday 8 AM–5 PM schedule, and involves creating engaging displays and managing merchandise arrangements to maximize promotions.

Responsibilities include rotating displays, planning window decor, directing display staff, and ensuring shelves promote all products effectively. A valid driver license and ability to work at heights are required.

Qualifications

• General merchandising experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs and operate a scissor lift.
• Driver license required with clean driving record in past 3 years.

• Change or rotate displays and signage according to inventory and promotions.
• Develop ideas for merchandise displays and window decorations.
• Arrange props, furniture, merchandise, backdrops and other accessories.
• Direct Visual Merch Materials Handlers on product placement in each bay.
• Assist with promoting all products, especially promotional items.
• Perform any other duties as directed by management.

Description

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED FOR VISUAL MERCH TIER I:

• Change or rotate displays and signage to reflect changes in inventory or promotion as directed by merchandisers, managers, or upper management.


• Develop ideas or plans for merchandise displays or window decorations.


• Arrange properties, furniture, merchandise, backdrops, and other accessories.


• Provide direction to Visual Merch Materials Handlers on which product will go in each specific bay.


• Assist with arranging each bay to promote all products in the best way possible, specifically focusing on promotional items.


• Any other duties as directed by management.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS FOR VISUAL MERCH TIER I: Ability to repetitively lift heavy merchandise of 20 lbs; ability to communicate effectively with team members; ability to work at heights and operate a scissor lift; experience and/or education in interior design preferred; positive attitude when working with customers; knowledge of employment, safety, and merchandise handling procedures; Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid Driver’s license with no more than 2 traffic violations or 1 chargeable accident within the past three years.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS: To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, an employee must be able to perform the following: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing/listening and repetitive motion.

Heavy Work:Lifting up to 20lbs occasionally, and/or up to 15 lbsfrequently, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly to move objects.

Work Environment: Indoor, climate-controlled environment.
