Job summary

Columbus College of Art & Design is seeking a part-time Lab Technician - Visual Media, PT, on campus in Columbus, OH. You will assist in checkout and return of photography, video, audio, and other gear, and provide technical support to students and faculty. You’ll work with student workers and help maintain labs and spaces.

The role emphasizes organization, safety, and collaboration with the Lab Manager on scheduling and projects, while ensuring equipment is ready for use and properly documented.

Qualifications

• Customer service-oriented with policy discretion.
• Familiar with photo/video/audio equipment.
• Experience in administrative support and inventory management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite; able to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Assemble orders for pickup and check/receive returns.
• Evaluate orders for gear compatibility; document L&D narratives.
• Sanitize items upon check-in and maintain lab supplies inventory.
• Coordinate scheduling with Lab Manager and student workers.
• Assist in cleaning, maintenance and oversight of labs and spaces.
• Perform administrative duties and support faculty on projects.
• Act as on-call contact for lab emergencies; handle other duties.
