Job summary

Columbus College of Art and Design is seeking a part-time Lab Technician for Visual Media on campus. The role supports students and faculty with photography, video, audio gear and lab spaces, reporting to the Visual Media Lab Manager.

You will assist in directing student workers, coordinating reservations, and keeping lab spaces orderly. The ideal candidate has experience with photographic/video equipment, strong customer service, and solid administrative skills.

Qualifications

• Customer service-oriented with policies enforced with discretion.
• Familiar with photo/video/audio equipment.
• Past experience with administrative support and inventory management.
• Basic computer skills: Microsoft Office and Google Suite; able to multitask.
• Strong interpersonal skills and regular communication expected.

Responsibilities

• Assemble orders for pickup and check/receive returning orders.
• Evaluate orders to ensure gear compatibility.
• Mark items as needing repair and document loss/damage narratives.
• Sanitize all items on check-in and coordinate with Lab Manager on scheduling.
