Job summary

Qualifications

• Equivalent of eighteen (18) months of related work experience.
• Proficiency with Mac and PC operating systems and hardware.
• Proficiency with relevant industry standard editing, graphics and animation software.
• Willingness to constantly upgrade software and hardware skill sets.
• Demonstrated attention to detail in both accuracy and efficiency.
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse students of all ages, ethnicities, genders, and backgrounds.
• Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work with autonomy and within a team environment.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to use workplace technology relevant to the position, including the capacity to learn and appropriately leverage emerging AI-supported tools.

Responsibilities

• Actively assist students during lab and studio access hours.
• Oversee equipment check-in and check-out with students to ensure proper handling.
• Guide students in selecting equipment based on assignment requirements.
• Set up and tear down classrooms/labs/studios as required by faculty.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on lab and studio equipment.
• Complete minor equipment repairs and report larger issues to faculty.
• Assist with setup, operation, and teardown of equipment for instructional use.
• Troubleshoot and resolve common media systems and equipment issues, escalate complex problems.
• Coordinate organization and readiness of rooms and spaces for disciplines.
• Maintain a professional on-campus presence to support students and staff.
• Utilize AI-enabled tools to support duties while maintaining confidentiality.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by faculty and Lab Coordinator.
