Job summary

CNN is seeking a Visual Investigations Senior Manager to lead a CNN team of reporters, producers, editors and animators. This role focuses on producing groundbreaking open-source and data-driven investigations that expose wrongdoing and hold institutions accountable.

Candidates must be self-starter, able to inspire teams, manage multiple projects, and uphold CNN’s standards across digital, TV, and social platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of production experience in the news television industry or digital video journalism, with investigative reporting experience a necessity.
• 3+ years of management experience leading producers, editors, or cross-functional teams.
• Must have strong news judgment as well as written, verbal, interpersonal communication, research, and production skills.
• Past reporting and field experience is an advantage.
• BA/BS in journalism, politics or a related field preferred or equivalent in experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify reporting targets and stories with the team and develop reporting plans.
• Support production and scripting, ensuring quality and integrity of reporting.
• Oversee field assignment logistics including determining locations and permissions.
• Liaise with investigation team leadership, shows, programming, photo and data visualization teams.
• Oversee multi-platform storytelling and manage multiple high-impact investigative projects.
