Job summary

CNN is seeking a Visual Investigations Producer to lead original, data-driven reporting using OSINT and digital forensics. You will mine diverse sources, develop compelling visual narratives, and collaborate with senior producers, writers, and correspondents across video projects.

The role requires a strong track record in investigative journalism, solid production skills, and the ability to manage field shoots, interview preparation, and creative storytelling across platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of production experience in news television or digital video journalism, with investigative reporting experience.
• BA/BS in journalism, politics or a related field preferred or equivalent in experience.
• Must have strong news judgment as well as strong written, verbal, interpersonal communication, research, and production skills.
• Past reporting and field experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Create compelling videojournalism for digital and linear platforms.
• Conduct deep-dive open-source research and verification using digital forensic tools.
• Proficiency in OSINT methods and tools including video verification, geolocation, social media scraping, and metadata analysis.
• Oversee production of motion graphics and animations including 3D when necessary.
• Develop and execute digital video investigations from start to finish including pre- and post-production.
• Assist in or write text stories for CNN’s digital platforms.
• Produce live segments, in field, studio, or remote locations as needed.
• Uphold CNN’s journalistic standards, ethics, and storytelling.
