Job summary

CNN is seeking a Visual Investigations Senior Producer to lead investigative video journalism that deconstructs critical moments, exposes wrongdoing, and holds powerful people and institutions accountable across digital and linear platforms. OSINT and digital forensics experience are required.

You will conceive and produce compelling reports from concept through post‑production, oversee motion graphics, write supporting text, and contribute to CNN’s editorial standards. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of production experience in news television or digital video journalism with investigative reporting a must.
• BA/BS in journalism, politics or a related field preferred or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Create compelling video journalism for digital and linear platforms.
• Pursue multiple high‑impact investigative projects, balancing long‑term initiatives with rapid exclusives.
• Conduct deep‑dive open‑source research and verification using advanced digital forensic tools and methodologies.
• Proficiency in OSINT methods and tools (video verification, AI detection, geolocation, chronolocation, social media scraping, metadata analysis, satellite imagery, marine and flight tracking).
• Conceive and oversee production of motion graphics and animations, including 3D animation when necessary.
• Advanced scripting, storytelling, and editorial skills with mastery of visual narrative techniques.
• Develop and execute stories from start to finish, including pre‑ and post‑production.
• Assist in or write text stories for CNN’s digital platforms.
• Produce live segments, in the field or in studios or remote network locations as needed.
• Knowledge of producing shoots, edits, and graphics – a must.
• Uphold and advance CNN’s journalistic standards.
