Job summary

EHN in NW Portland, OR 97209 seeks an Ophthalmic Technician Level I to open testing rooms, prepare patients, and assist with flow and charting. The role involves conducting visual field tests and OCT, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Strong communication and adherence to safety standards are essential. Level I responsibilities expand to Level II duties as proficiency increases, with a possibility to cover as Ophthalmic Technician or Scribe.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of ophthalmic experience preferred.
• Experience with lensometry, visual acuity testing, and ocular motility evaluations preferred.
• Familiarity with CPT/ICD coding and ophthalmic terminology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Opens and prepares testing rooms for the day.
• Maintains clean, orderly work area and proper patient prep.
• Assists with patient flow and ensures accurate charting and testing.
• Performs visual field tests (Goldmann and Humphrey) and OCT.
• Communicates professionally with patients and staff; protects patient confidentiality.
