Ford Motor Company’s Digital Product Design team seeks a principle-level In‑Cabin + Visual Design lead to shape visual design and motion across in-vehicle, connected devices, and mobile experiences. You’ll establish vision, standards, and exemplar work while mentoring designers and aligning with senior stakeholders.

You will guide design across Ford and Lincoln experiences, collaborating with UX, product, research, and engineering to ensure consistent, high‑quality outcomes and scalable design

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, interaction design, digital product design, or equivalent education/experience.
• 8+ years of experience in visual design and/or motion for digital products.
• Strong portfolio showing high-level visual craft and design systems across interactive experiences.
• Experience defining, evolving, and scaling design principles across products or teams.
• Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma, ProtoPie, Adobe CC, After Effects, Rive, and/or 3D animation tools.
• Experience leading design work across disciplines and influencing partners without formal authority.
• Strong communication and presentation skills to explain design rationale and build stakeholder alignment.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate a clear vision for visual design across Ford and Lincoln digital experiences, aligning direction with brand, customer, product, and technical needs.
• Lead the evolution and governance of visual design and motion standards, patterns, and guidance for DPD.
• Shape high-impact design work from early exploration through prototyping and delivery, bringing clarity to complex problems.
• Create exemplar work that demonstrates quality, craft, and interaction principles across products.
• Partner with UX, product, research, brand, and engineering leaders to resolve design challenges and deliver cohesive experiences.
• Guide teams in applying visual design and motion principles consistently, adapting to different products and platforms.
• Collaborate with engineering to assess feasibility and preserve design intent through development.
• Lead design critiques and reviews; provide clear feedback to strengthen work and grow design capability.
• Mentor designers and influence growth of design practice within the organization.
• Use customer research and industry insights to inform direction and opportunities.
• Present design strategy and recommendations to partners and senior stakeholders.
• Improve design processes, documentation, and handoffs for scalable application of visual design.
