Job summary

TPS Group Holdings LLC, including The Paper Store brand, seeks an experienced Department Manager for the Orlando area to lead store operations, greet customers, coach the team, and oversee merchandising and promotions.   • Proficient in using Microsoft Office and POS Systems.
  • Ability to be mobile on the sales floor and/or stock room for extended periods of time.
  • Work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Work well in a team environment and be a team leader.
  • Possess the resourcefulness and initiative to solve problems and act as a team builder.
  • Work autonomously with strong attention to detail.
  • Lift and move medium to large items up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to travel to new store openings and remodels.

  • Greet and welcome every customer warmly and with enthusiasm.
  • Understand customer needs by asking open‑ended questions.
  • Explain product features and benefits in relation to the customers’ needs with in‑depth product knowledge.
  • Suggest additional items to build onto sales.
  • Thank the customer and invite them to return.
  • Be a TPS Brand Ambassador and build customer loyalty.
  • Inspire and motivate the team daily with feedback and TPS recognition programs.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by modeling ethical behavior and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate sound judgement in decisions benefiting customer, store, and business.
  • Commit to training and development using all resources.
  • Initiate cross‑training across departments to support leadership bench strength.
  • Train and coach associates on merchandising/operational tasks and TPS standards.
  • Lead and execute company directives within time frames.
  • Develop relationships with Visual Merchandiser, Hallmark Merchandiser, Store Leaders, and district/corporate partners.
  • Maintain awareness of promotions and process them at the POS.
  • Champion new product launches with product knowledge.
  • Ensure marketing/signage is up to date.
  • Communicate via Smart Sheet, email, etc. promptly.
  • After training, perform ear piercings safely per guidelines (select locations).
  • Perform store management functions like opening/closing and POS operations.
  • Assist in strategies to drive sales and customer loyalty.
  • Complete tasks as directed by Store Leader or District Manager.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures.

  • Continuously train and coach associates on merchandising/operational tasks, company expectations, and GUEST service standards.
  • Lead and execute completion of company directives within appropriate time frames.
  • Develop a strong relationship with the Visual Merchandiser, Hallmark Merchandiser, Store Team Leaders, District Manager and corporate partners.
  • Maintain awareness of all current promotions and process them correctly at the POS.
  • Champion new product launches by being the material expert in new product information.
  • Ensure all marketing and promotion signage is up to date and placed correctly.
  • Ensure all means of communication (Smart Sheet, email, etc.) are acted upon in a timely manner.
  • After comprehensive training, perform ear piercings and provide a safe, sanitary experience in accordance with state, federal and CDC guidelines (select locations).
  • Perform management functions such as opening/closing the store, managing point‑of‑sale operations, managing the sales floor, coordinating break schedules, etc.
  • Assist the Store Team Leader with executing strategies to drive sales and customer loyalty through effective sales and service leadership behaviors, The Hallmark Crown Rewards Program, TPS customer capture, and store events.
  • Complete all tasks/directions as directed by the Store Team Leader, Merchandiser or District Manager.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
