Job summary

Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center is seeking a Visitor Experience Manager to lead the day-to-day VE team, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive guest experience across galleries and public spaces. You will hire, train, schedule, coach and supervise staff, coordinating with Security, Exhibitions, Education and Events to maintain high service standards.

The role emphasizes leadership, guest service excellence, and collaborative operations across departments within a dynamic arts environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising or managing employees in visitor services, hospitality, museums, arts and culture, retail, customer service or events.
• Demonstrated leadership and team development abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a focus on guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Visitor Experience team (Leads and Associates).
• Recruit, onboard and train new VE staff in coordination with the Director of Exhibitions.
• Develop staff schedules for regular hours, exhibitions, programs and events.
• Provide coaching and conduct performance discussions with VE staff.
• Ensure high standards for welcoming and assisting visitors and for information accuracy.
• Coordinate with departments to prepare VE staff for daily operations and special events.
• Oversee VE operations across galleries and public spaces and ensure accessibility needs are met.
• Monitor safety, incident reporting and emergency procedures in VE areas.
• Communicate visitor feedback to relevant departments and leadership.
