Job summary

Michigan State University’s Visiting International Professional Program (VIPP) invites applications for a pool of fixed-term, part-time Lecturers to teach courses for international adult learners. Each course runs seven weeks totaling 21 instructional hours and is paid as a lump sum.

Appointments may be renewed based on funding and performance; openings begin as early as summer 2026. Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree, 3+ years teaching/international experience, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in any field.
• Minimum three years of teaching and/or professional work experience with international students and communities.
• Evidence of teaching experience and effectiveness: a sample course syllabus or sample of quantitative or qualitative data from teaching evaluations.
• Basic instructional technology skills, including navigating through course management systems such as D2L.

Responsibilities

• Teach one or more courses for international adult learners.
• Develop course materials and assessments for VIPP programs.
• Engage with diverse learners and assess learning outcomes.
