Job summary

Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, MI invites applications for a full-time, fixed-term Special Education Lecturer in the Department of Teacher and Special Education. The position supports teaching graduate and undergraduate courses with a 4-course load during the 9-month academic year, beginning August 24, 2026.

Fall 2026 start preferred; Spring 2027 start may be considered. Initial appointment is for one year with potential renewal based on performance and department needs; salary

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Special Education or closely related field; ABD considered if degree is conferred by the start date.
• Three years of PK-12 U.S. experience teaching students with disabilities (may include work up to age 26).
• Evidence of effective collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to the field of Special Education.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Special Education.
• Maintain a 4-course teaching load per academic year (4-4).
• Contribute to departmental service and scholarly activities as appropriate for a fixed-term faculty member.
