Job summary

The Family Institute at Northwestern University in Evanston invites applications for visiting core faculty in the MSMFT program housed within CAPFS. Core faculty teach, supervise, govern the program, and maintain a clinical caseload; duties include recruitment and program leadership within a changing structure.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in MFT/CFT from a COAMFTE-accredited program or related field with graduate-level MFT/CFT; ABD considered.
• AAMFT Approved Supervisor or eligibility.
• Licensed LMFT in Illinois or eligible to obtain.
• Experience teaching graduate-level courses in family therapy or related fields.
• Experience supervising graduate students in clinical settings.
• Strong leadership and adaptability in educational contexts.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver an outcome-based education framework with measurable student learning outcomes.
• Assess student competencies and program operations using data and feedback for improvements.
• Serve on core faculty governance bodies and admissions committees.
• Act as academic advisor to MSMFT graduate students throughout training.
• Teach courses on-ground and online, including online MSMFT components.
• Supervise and mentor AAMFT Approved Supervisor Candidates.
• Support student development and licensure applications.
