The Lafayette College Department of Chemistry is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor (non-tenure-track) to join the faculty starting January 2027 through the 2027-2028 academic year. The teaching load is three lecture courses per semester, with two three-hour labs counting as a lecture course.

Responsibilities include teaching general chemistry and, depending on expertise and departmental needs, courses in organic chemistry or biochemistry.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree strongly preferred; ABD considered.
• Prior teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to teach general chemistry and possibly organic chemistry or biochemistry.

Responsabilités

• Teach three lecture courses each semester; two 3-hour labs count as one course.
• Potentially teach organic chemistry or biochemistry depending on expertise and needs.
• Opportunity to mentor undergraduate research projects.
