Job summary

Lafayette College's Department of Chemistry invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor (non-tenure-track) to join our teaching faculty starting January 2027 through the 2027-2028 academic year. The position focuses on introductory general chemistry and may include other courses depending on expertise and departmental needs.

The teaching load is three lecture courses each semester; two three-hour laboratory sections are equivalent to a lecture.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree strongly preferred; ABD considered.
• Prior teaching experience preferred.
• Specialization in organic chemistry or biochemistry welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Teach introductory general chemistry courses.
• Contribute to other courses depending on expertise and needs.
• Supervise two three-hour laboratory sections each semester.
