The Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of South Florida in Tampa invites applications for a 9-month, full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Instruction, to begin August 7, 2025, with the possible extension for a second and/or third year.
The department has over 125 students pursuing majors, concentrations, or minors; 8 full-time faculty; and 70 affiliated faculty across the university. It offers a master's degree and a graduate certificate, employing 8-10 teaching assistants annually. As one of the oldest women's studies departments in the country, WGSS at USF was the first public university in Florida to offer a BA degree. More information can be found at usf.edu/wgss.

Ph.D. in Women's, Gender, and/or Sexuality Studies or a related field with a graduate certificate in WGSS; ABD candidates must have Ph.D. by August 7, 2025. At least 2 years of teaching experience as instructor of record. Ability to teach core and elective WGSS undergraduate courses, particularly "Introduction to Women's and Gender Studies" and "Human Sexual Behavior," in person and online, employing feminist/queer pedagogies. Evidence of effective teaching and meeting university criteria for Assistant Professor of Instruction are required.
Experience teaching "Introduction to Women's and Gender Studies," "Human Sexual Behavior," or related courses. Demonstrated successful teaching record in these areas is preferred.
