Opportunity at a Glance

We seek dedicated instructors with high standards, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, and a commitment to practitioner-focused education. We aim to develop long-term relationships with industry professionals to share knowledge with undergraduate and graduate students.

Courses meet once or twice weekly for eight weeks, blending technology such as online discussions and assignments to enhance learning. Teaching commitments are on a course-by-course basis.

Course of Instruction:

SOCS185 - Culture and Society: This course examines the influence of culture on social organizations, addressing issues of race and gender within multicultural and global contexts, supported by sociological principles and research.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a syllabus aligned with university standards and course objectives.
  • Prepare, revise, and update course materials regularly.
  • Utilize online tools and course-related software effectively.
  • Model clear, engaging oral and written communication.
  • Set transparent expectations regarding course objectives, schedules, and assessments.
  • Align exam content with course objectives and grade fairly and promptly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and adhere to policies and standards.

Qualifications:

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Sociology, Social Work, Social Science, American Studies, Gender Studies, or Ethnic Studies.
  • At least 15 credit hours of online teaching experience (preferred).
  • Passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
  • Exceptional subject matter expertise and communication skills.

Additional Information

Visiting Professor Position - Online:
