Job description

The Zimmerman School of Advertising & Mass Communications at the University of South Florida invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor of Instruction, a nine-month, full-time, non-tenure earning position with a start date of August 7, 2025. Salary is negotiable. This is a visiting position with the potential for extension for a second and third year based on performance and funding.

The Zimmerman School's location in Tampa, Florida— the 11th largest media market in the U.S.— offers excellent opportunities for internships and career growth in a diverse community near a booming business and technology corridor. Students participate in over 100 internships annually in the Tampa Bay area and beyond. Campus organizations such as the Walter E. Griscti Chapter of PRSSA, the Ad Club, and chapters of FPRA and RTDNA provide networking opportunities with professionals across sectors.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Master’s degree in video production, film, broadcast news, mass communications, or related field from an accredited institution, with professional experience in video production and editing. Submission of a video reel is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with mirrorless/DSLR cameras, proficiency in video editing software, and at least two years of teaching university undergraduates are preferred.
