Visitation Coordinator – Children’s Services (Foster Care Program), Allentown PA

Availability

Position available starting November 3, 2025.

Schedule

Part‑time, approximately 20 hours per week, working weekday hours from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm, varying by visit schedule.

Reporting Relationship

Reports to Placement Services Director.

Compensation

$23.10 per hour; Grade 78, Non‑Exempt.

Overview

The Salvation Army Children’s Services’ mission is “Doing the Most Good by Nurturing Children, Strengthening Families and Engaging Communities.” The Visitation Coordinator works in The Comfort Cottage, a home‑like setting that promotes a safe and nurturing environment for children and families.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor family visitation schedules at the Comfort Cottage.
• Facilitate initial and ongoing contact with families and agencies to establish a visitation routine.
• Assist with foster child placement needs and coordinate placement for children awaiting placement.
• Manage office duties such as phone calls, compliance documentation, and scheduling monthly review meetings with the Visit Coaching supervisor.
• Prepare written documentation for agency records and maintain compliance.
• Participate in professional development, including training in Trust Based Relational Invention (TBRI®).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of three years of experience working with children in a school, social services, or human services setting.
• Strong engagement and organizational skills.
• Flexibility to adjust work hours to meet client needs.
• Appreciation and support of The Salvation Army Mission; active Salvationist status is a plus.
• Compliance with Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
