The City of Brenham seeks a tourism sales professional to manage the Visit Brenham DMO's visitor services and group travel outreach in Brenham and Washington County. You will lead staff, solicit convention and meeting business, present to planners, and coordinate familiarization tours to showcase our venues and hospitality assets.

Cultivates professional relationships to solicit and manage group travel, conventions, meetings, and events in Brenham and Washington County. Responsible for marketing, selling, and coordinating events and services to drive hotel room nights and visitor spending, while collaborating with local businesses and hospitality partners. Leverages destination knowledge and industry tools to enhance sales efforts, contributing to Brenham and Washington County DMO's reputation as a premier tourism hub. Maintains a customer-focused approach.

Bachelor's degree in business, tourism, hospitality, or marketing, plus one year of tourism related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
General management principles; computers; budgeting, purchasing, and accounting principles and procedures; standard office practices and procedures; courteous and professional telephone and customer service etiquette. Knowledge of practices and principals of Destination Marketing concepts; public relations methods and techniques; and effective communication practices.
Excellent written and communication skills; skilled in various computer software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher); industry related CRM systems; self-disciplined and capable of working with little supervision in a fast paced environment; ability to manage multiple projects; ability to research, compile and summarize a variety of information and statistical data; skilled in effective time management and resource utilization; and ability to make oral presentations before the public.
Valid Texas driver's license is required. Certified Meeting Professional preferred, or ability to obtain within 1 year from date of hire.
