Job summary

The South Sound YMCA seeks an accomplished President & Chief Executive Officer to guide a thriving, multi-branch nonprofit serving Thurston and Mason counties. You will lead strategic planning, strengthen partnerships, and drive growth while upholding the Y's mission of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

You will oversee fiscal management, cultivate donor and community relationships, and build a high-performing team across campuses, ensuring accessibility and relevance

Qualifications

• Accredited four-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and executive-level experience.
• Fiscally sound business management with a proven record of leading budgets of ~$15 million+ annually.
• Minimum seven years of progressive senior leadership experience with a YMCA or similar multi-site organization.
• Ability to build relationships with boards, staff, donors, civic leaders and diverse constituencies.
• Ability to evaluate, strengthen and innovate programs for mission impact and sustainability.
• Strategic planning and fundraising experience, including annual campaigns, major gifts and grants.
• Commitment to equity, justice, belonging and leading an anti-racist organization.
• Demonstrated financial leadership, change management and organizational development.
• YMCA Organizational Leader Certification or ability to obtain within three years.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a strategic plan with defined organizational strategies and measurable goals.
• Position the Y as a vital partner for community change and cultivate key stakeholder relationships.
• Build and lead staff, create learning and development opportunities, and foster inclusion.
• Improve operating performance through annual tactical planning and proactive issue resolution.
• Oversee high-level fiscal management, budgeting, forecasting and stewardship strategies.
• Lead and elevate fundraising efforts, including annual campaigns, major gifts and grants.
• Foster equity, belonging and anti-racist practices across systems, culture and service.
• Residency within the South Sound YMCA service area and visible presence in communities.
