World Science Festival seeks a creative and visionary Chief Development Officer to design and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy, diversify the funding base, and grow philanthropic revenue to advance its mission.

Based in New York City with an in-office schedule, this senior leadership role leads a fundraising team, partners with the CEO and board, and cultivates major gifts, foundations, and corporate partnerships to broaden WSF's impact.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience with senior leadership exposure.
• Proven track record in securing major gifts and growing revenue.
• Experience building fundraising strategy and leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead a multi-year fundraising strategy to diversify the funding base.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align priorities with funding initiatives.
• Identify and pursue funding opportunities across program areas including live and digital content.
• Set revenue goals, benchmarks, and accountability structures for the department.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward major funders including individuals, foundations, and corporations.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing development team and build capacity.
• Provide donor cultivation, solicitation strategy, and stewardship in partnership with founders and the board.
• Foster a culture of philanthropy across the organization.
