Job summary

St. Edmund’s Retreat, Inc. seeks an inspirational Executive Director to lead two ministry sites, Enders Island and the Matulaitis Center, guiding hospitality, spiritual renewal, and evangelization.

You will report to the Board, shape strategic priorities, oversee advancement and operations, and cultivate partnerships with clergy, donors, and community leaders to sustain this Catholic mission. The role requires a seasoned nonprofit executive, a strong financial fluency, and a deep commitment to

Qualifications

• Practicing Catholic in good standing with commitment to Church teachings.
• Minimum of ten years of progressive executive leadership in a mission-driven org.
• Successful track record in major gifts, donor stewardship, and campaigns.
• Strong financial and strategic planning skills with sustainability focus.
• Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership to advance mission, vision, and priorities.
• Develop and implement strategic initiatives approved by the Board.
• Build and lead a high-performing executive leadership team.
• Foster collaboration, accountability, and mission integration across ministries.
• Represent the organization within the Diocese and Catholic community.
• Oversee advancement, fundraising, finance, facilities, HR, and operations.
• Ensure long-term sustainability and a welcoming environment for guests.
