The Director collaborates with leaders to improve access, enhance clinical quality, reduce risk, and drive improvements and innovations across the organization. The role provides clinical and operational oversight, working with other leaders to recruit, retain, and develop vision care professionals while aligning with PHC’s mission to deliver

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree required.
• Experience supervising an optometry office or owning an optometry business, including optical suite.
• Experience with topical ophthalmic medicines and systemic medicines for ocular pathology or trauma within CA rules.
• Experience treating complex visual/ocular disorders with advanced optometric techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and operational oversight for Vision Services.
• Lead performance reviews and competency evaluations for Vision providers.
• Recruit and develop Vision staff; oversee retention programs.
• Collaborate with leadership to plan and implement care delivery improvements.
• Coordinate referrals within sites (ophthalmology, primary care, dental, mental health).
• Monitor equipment, inventory, and budgeting for vision care.
