Job summary

Lighthouse Guild on the Upper West Side of New York seeks a Director of Health Services to lead clinical operations across multiple services including Medical, Behavioral Health, and Optometry. The role focuses on patient access, care coordination, staffing, and quality/safety compliance with NYSDOH and OMH standards.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in healthcare management, strong leadership, and proven success managing complex budgets and operational performance in regulated

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; NYS professional clinical license preferred.
• Progressive leadership and healthcare operations experience in regulated outpatient facilities.
• Experience with staffing, budgets, patient access, quality improvement, and organizational change.
• Strong knowledge of privacy, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience using EHRs, scheduling systems, and operational reports; integrate new technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily oversight for clinical operations across Medical, Behavioral Health, Optometry, Occupational Therapy, and Optical Dispensary.
• Manage scheduling, registration, patient flow, and follow-up workflows to improve access and continuity of care.
• Oversee relationships with referral sources to maximize patient volume and care provision.
• Establish consistent intake, handoffs, testing results, and referral completion procedures.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team and serve as primary contact for NYSDOH/OMH site visits and audits.
• Foster a patient-centered, whole-health model and address complaints with improvements.
• Supervise diverse staff and manage integrated EHRs and productivity tracking.
• Collaborate with Medical Director and department leads to ensure quality and coordination.
• Oversee crisis intervention policies and after-hours coverage; plan for service expansion.
