Job summary

Helen Keller Intl in New York (hybrid) seeks a Program Assistant for the Vision Program to support vision screenings, refractions, eyeglass ordering, and referrals across all five boroughs.

You will collaborate with program staff, contractors, and community partners to maintain HIPAA-compliant records, deliver services safely, and help expand access to high-quality vision care for children and adults who face barriers to care.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school; plus 1-2 years related experience.
• Experience working in school or health settings with adolescents preferred.
• Ability to travel within the targeted communities; Spanish is an asset, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to schools and host locations with materials.
• Set up space at host locations to ensure safe, smooth operations.
• Conduct vision screening, refraction assessment, eyeglass selection and ordering, and documentation.
