Job summary

TX-STAR Speech Language Services partners with school districts across Texas to provide specialized educational support. We are seeking Teachers of Students with Visual Impairments for school-based opportunities statewide.

As a TVI you will assess, plan, and deliver accessible instruction in alignment with IEPs, convert materials to Braille or large print, and collaborate with teachers and families to promote independence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and valid Texas teaching certification required.
• Texas certification as Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized instruction and accessibility support based on each student’s needs.
• Convert lessons and materials into accessible formats (Braille, large print).
• Incorporate assistive technology and tactile learning tools as appropriate.
• Implement goals and accommodations from students’ IEPs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, related-service providers, and families.
• Monitor progress and document service records and reports accurately.
