Job summary

Affinity Eye Care in Ohio is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care.

You will assist patients in selecting frames and lenses, measure accurately, and ensure proper fit. You will manage insurance questions, document prescriptions in the EHR, and maintain high standards of service.

The role blends technical fittings with friendly customer service and opportunities for growth within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience as an Optician preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA preferred.
• Proficient PC skills (MC Office, Windows).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Customer service experience with sales is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Delivers excellent patient experience and explains customized product recommendations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and accessories based on prescription, lifestyle, and style.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, rebates, lenses, and frame options.
• Enter prescription data into EHR and ALE systems and ensure documentation is complete.
• Communicate with technicians and managers about order status and issues.
• Inspect final eyewear for fit and polish lenses.
• Educate patients on care, warranty, and insurance coverage.
• Follow HIPAA and quality standards in all patient interactions.
