Job summary

Plume Health is seeking a Support Group Facilitator to lead virtual groups for trans, nonbinary, and non-cis members. You will cultivate safe, inclusive spaces, develop session agendas using monthly themes, and foster peer support within a growing start-up environment.

This independent contract role requires strong empathy, boundary setting, and group management while aligning with Plume's mission to improve health outcomes for the transgender community.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience as a facilitator or peer support specialist.
• 2+ years of experience and a passion for supporting trans/nonbinary individuals.
• 1+ years' experience facilitating virtual or online support groups.
• Comfort and experience facilitating workshops on equity, anti-discrimination, inclusion, trans/nonbinary issues, consent, and social justice.
• Experience discussing sensitive issues in trans/nonbinary communities in a group setting.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate peers in live virtual group settings to support them with barriers related to their identity.
• Take an empathetic, proactive approach to meeting members' emotional needs as they arise.
• Use Plume's monthly themes and templates to create agendas, discussion questions, and activities for support groups.
• Provide feedback on session structure and training materials to improve Plume's offering.
• Answer questions about Plume services and provide support to members in accessing those services.
• Engage with participants in the Prism to encourage community connection outside of group meetings.
• Utilize conflict resolution skills to address group dynamics and ensure adherence to group agreements.
• Occasionally provide facilitation coverage for other Facilitators.
• Optional participation in social gatherings or Prism moderation coverage.
