Virtual Trader – Energy Markets (PJM, MISO, ERCOT)

We are looking for a sharp, market-savvy Virtuals Trader to join our power trading team with a focus on virtual trading strategies in ISO/RTO markets, specifically PJM, MISO, or ERCOT.

Virtual Trader responsibilities;

• Identify, model, and execute day-ahead virtual bids and offers across PJM, MISO, and ERCOT based on congestion trends, nodal pricing, and fundamentals.
• Congestion Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of transmission constraints, LMP spreads, and topology changes to inform trading decisions.
• Track and interpret ISO market data, FTR auction results, outage schedules, and regulatory changes affecting market dynamics.
• Portfolio Optimization: Manage virtual trading portfolio with focus on risk-adjusted returns, capital efficiency, and real-time performance tracking.
• Work closely with FTR traders, analysts, and software developers to refine models, improve forecasts, and build proprietary trading tools.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in virtual trading or congestion trading in PJM, MISO, NY-ISO or ERCOT markets.
• Strong understanding of ISO/RTO market mechanics, including day-ahead vs. real-time markets, LMP, congestion, and uplift.
• Proficiency with trading platforms, ISO data portals, and analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Python, SQL, R).
• Strong quantitative mindset with ability to work under pressure and make time-sensitive decisions.
• Familiarity with FTR/TCR markets and auction processes.
