Job summary

Distance Learning Solutions, Inc. is hiring an Educational Specialist in Oregon for a fully remote office, 9-month calendar from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The role centers on providing instructional-related services for virtual-school families and students.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, an Oregon teaching license with endorsements, and the ability to work independently with strong internet access. Start date is 12/01/2026 and travel for field trips may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Current State of Oregon Teaching License is required.
• Endorsements as required by the Oregon Department of Education with the appropriate endorsement in areas of assignment.
• One year of successful teaching experience within the subject area OR successful completion of an Oregon instructional internship program.
• Three years experience, preferred.
• Must have a dedicated workspace with reliable high-speed internet for teleconferencing.
• Ability to pass required background checks.
• Obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
• Candidates must live in the state of Oregon to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

• Guide instructional plans according to individual student needs using a variety of curricula and virtual tools.
• Initiate, plan, and carry out parent/student meetings via technology platforms.
• Complete daily and monthly reports.
• Respond to student portfolio submissions, report cards, emails, texts, and phone calls daily.
• Maintain tracking of student and family data.
• Communicate with the Special Ed team as caseload requires.
• Attend and participate in required company and program virtual meetings.
• Plan and teach weekly virtual classes.
• Travel to and manage field trips in various locations.
• Incorporate feedback and contribute to program innovation.
• Use Google Suite for Education and MS Excel.

Job Definition

Under the general supervision of the Distance Learning Solutions, Inc. Directors, this position performs a variety of tasks with the major responsibility being that of providing exceptional instructional‑related services for families and students participating in a virtual schooling program.

Program Directors of Distance Learning Solutions, Inc.

Job Characteristics

Instructional‑related services shall include communication, skill development, the expansion of knowledge, and the development of the ability to reason. The use of independent judgment and decision‑making is required in many matters not having established rules, regulations, policies, or precedents.

Primary Functions

• Guide instructional plans according to individual student needs using a variety of curricula and virtual tools
• Initiate, plan, and carry out regular and required parent/student meetings via technology platforms
• Complete daily and monthly reports
• Answer and respond to student portfolio submissions, report cards, emails, texts, and phone calls on a daily basis
• Maintain tracking/spreadsheet of student and family data
• Communicate and meet with the Special Ed team as caseload requires
• Attend and participate in all required company and program virtual meetings
• Plan and teach weekly virtual classes
• Travel to and manage field trips in a variety of locations
• Give, receive, and incorporate feedback
• Contribute to the continuous innovation that is required of a unique distance learning program
• Use a variety of computer software, including Google Suite for Education, and MS Excel
• All other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Education/Licensure/Certification
• Bachelor’s degree
• Current State of Oregon Teaching License
• Endorsements as required by the Oregon Department of Education with the appropriate endorsement in areas of assignment. Educational Specialists must have obtained the TSPC Elementary-Multiple Subjects or its equivalent license endorsement
• Experience
• One year of successful teaching experience within the subject area OR successful completion of an Oregon instructional internship program
• Three years experience, preferred
• Other minimum qualifications
• Must have a dedicated workspace free from distractions with consistent and reliable high‑speed internet access for teleconferencing
• Operational knowledge of the Internet and Web‑related technologies
• Able to adequately meet legal requirements for performing this position
• Ability to pass required background checks
• Obtain CPR and First Aid certification
• Candidates must live in the state of Oregon to be considered for this position
