Distance Learning Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Educational Specialist to provide instructional-related services to families and students participating in a virtual schooling program.

The role supports remote learners with a service-driven model and requires a strong commitment to student success. The position operates on a 9-month calendar, with full-time exempt status, and is remote/telework friendly while coordinating with program directors to deliver high-quality educational experiences.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Current State of Oregon Teaching License required.
• Endorsements as required by the Oregon Department of Education with the appropriate endorsement in areas of assignment.
• Educational Specialists must have obtained the TSPC Elementary-Multiple Subjects or its equivalent license endorsement.

Responsabilidades

• Guide instructional plans according to individual student needs using a variety of curricula and virtual tools.
• Initiate, plan, and carry out regular and required parent/student meetings via technology platforms.
• Complete daily and monthly reports.
• Answer and respond to student portfolio submissions, report cards, emails, texts, and phone calls daily.
• Maintain tracking/spreadsheet of student and family data.
• Communicate and meet with the Special Ed team as caseload requires.
• Plan and teach weekly virtual classes.
• Travel to and manage field trips in a variety of locations.

Job Definition

Under the general supervision of the Distance Learning Solutions, Inc. Directors, this position performs a variety of tasks with the major responsibility being that of providing exceptional instructional-related services for families and students participating in a virtual schooling program.

Program Directors of Distance Learning Solutions, Inc.

Job Characteristics

Instructional-related services shall include communication, skill development, the expansion of knowledge, and the development of the ability to reason. The use of independent judgment and decision-making is required in many matters not having established rules, regulations, policies, or precedents.

Primary Functions

• Guide instructional plans according to individual student needs using a variety of curricula and virtual tools
• Initiate, plan, and carry out regular and required parent/student meetings via technology platforms
• Complete daily and monthly reports
• Answer and respond to student portfolio submissions, report cards, emails, texts, and phone calls on a daily basis
• Maintain tracking/spreadsheet of student and family data
• Communicate and meet with the Special Ed team as caseload requires
• Attend and participate in all required company and program virtual meetings
• Plan and teach weekly virtual classes
• Travel to and manage field trips in a variety of locations
• Give, receive, and incorporate feedback
• Contribute to the continuous innovation that is required of a unique distance learning program
• Use a variety of computer software, including Google Suite for Education, and MS Excel
• All other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Licensure/Certification

• Bachelor’s degree
• Current State of Oregon Teaching License
• Endorsements as required by the Oregon Department of Education with the appropriate endorsement in areas of assignment. Educational Specialists must have obtained the TSPC Elementary-Multiple Subjects or its equivalent license endorsement

Experience

• One year of successful teaching experience within the subject area OR successful completion of an Oregon instructional internship program
• Three years experience, preferred

Other minimum qualifications

• Must have a dedicated workspace free from distractions with consistent and reliable high-speed internet access for teleconferencing
• Operational knowledge of the Internet and Web-related technologies
• Able to adequately meet legal requirements for performing this position
• Ability to pass required background checks
• Obtain CPR and First Aid certification
• Candidates must live in the state of Oregon to be considered for this position.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions

• This job requires sitting or standing at a workstation for most of the day.
