Job summary

iLEAD California Charters seeks a Long Term Sub, SpEd Teacher for iLEAD Exploration (virtual). The role supports students with IEPs in a general education setting, collaborating with an IEP team to deliver specialized instruction.

The Education Specialist Substitute will plan and implement IEPs, monitor progress, and communicate with parents, with a focus on inclusive, student-centered learning in a remote, project-based environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with credential requirements
• Credentials to meet assignment requirements per state/local boards
• Special Education licensure and California credentials including AAAS
• Student-teaching/internship completed
• Experience educating special needs students
• Proven effective classroom and learner behavior management skills
• Knowledge of current special education practices and methodologies
• Knowledge of state/local/federal regulations affecting special education
• Knowledge of current special education technology applications

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and implement IEPs with an IEP Team as needed for students with disabilities
• Provide specialized instruction per IEP, with social, emotional, and educational objectives
• Case manage and update IEPs throughout the school year
• Collaborate with IEP Teams (parents, facilitators, administrators, Care Team)
• Design inclusive teaching strategies with General Education Facilitators
• Monitor and document learner progress using appropriate assessments
• Maintain regular communication with parents for support and coaching
• Assist with crisis intervention and maintain a safe learning environment
