Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II to join a full-time clinical team in Concord, NC. This role supports care teams by performing clinical and administrative tasks, maintaining patient safety, and upholding confidentiality.

The ideal candidate holds CMA/RMA certification or MA program completion, at least two years of MA experience, and current BLS. Sign-on bonus eligibility applies for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military clinical training per DD214 in lieu of a program.
• CMA or RMA certification from AAMA/NHA/NCCT/AMT/NAHP/NRMA/ARMA or equivalent.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Two years of clinical MA experience.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vital signs and update medical information.
• Collect specimens and perform basic lab testing per infection control standards.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures and minor surgeries.
• Administer medications, immunizations, injections and IV therapy as permitted.
• Educate patients and coordinate follow-up care, referrals, appointments and refills.
• Document patient information and communicate with providers and care team members.
• Perform advanced clinical procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, spirometry and wound care as trained.
• Prepare, clean, stock and maintain exam rooms, equipment and supplies.
• Perform equipment maintenance, sterilization and quality checks.
• Support quality improvement and patient-centered care initiatives.
