Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II in Concord, NC to support the care team with clinical and administrative tasks. The role involves rooming patients, taking vital signs, collecting specimens, assisting with exams and procedures, and coordinating follow-up care.

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with hours Mon-Fri 7:45am-4:30pm and a sign-on bonus eligibility based on organizational qualifications. Must have CMA/RMA or eligibility and AHA BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Certification as CMA or RMA by a national organization.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vital signs, and update medical information.
• Collect specimens and perform basic laboratory testing with infection control.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and minor surgeries.
• Administer medications, immunizations, injections, and IV therapy as permitted.
• Educate patients and coordinate follow-up care, referrals, and refills.
• Document patient information and communicate with care team.
• Perform advanced procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, and wound care.
