Job summary

AWS is seeking a software engineer to build and own full-system models and the infrastructure that powers our Trainium and Inferentia platforms. You will create functional models of subsystems used across firmware, drivers, runtimes, and applications, enabling software teams to run workloads before silicon arrives.

You will design usable, high-performance models and contribute to the platform's QEMU integration and tooling.

Qualifications

• Experience building functional models, virtual platforms, or system-level simulations for SoCs/ASICs/GPUs/CPUs.
• Proficient in C/C++ and Python; familiar with Java or Perl for tooling.
• Knowledge of SoC, CPU, GPU, or ASIC architecture and micro-architecture.

Responsibilities

• Build and own functional models of SoC subsystems integrated into a virtual platform used by firmware, driver, runtime, and application software teams.
• Design models emphasizing usability and performance for software engineers running real workloads.
• Develop and improve the virtual platform infrastructure, including QEMU integration, simulation performance, and release tooling.
