Job summary

AWS's Trainium and Inferentia chips power the world's largest ML clusters. We design C++ models of these SoCs used by RTL engineers, verification teams, and software groups across the silicon lifecycle.

The modeling engineer will own models translating architecture specs into accurate C++ models, work with RTL verification teams, and build regression suites and coverage-driven tests. Location: Cupertino or Austin.

Qualifications

• Experience building functional or performance models of SoCs, ASICs, GPUs, CPUs, or IP blocks.
• Ability to translate architecture specs into C++/SystemC models.
• Familiarity with DV teams or pre-silicon validation environments.
• Interest in expanding into architectural performance modeling as the team grows.

Responsibilities

• Build and own models of SoC subsystems — translating architecture specs and RTL behavior into accurate, testable C++ models.
• Work with RTL design/verification teams to validate model behavior against RTL and support pre-silicon flows.
• Develop model-based test infrastructure: regression suites, RTL correlation checks, and coverage-driven testing.
