Job summary

Connections Academy seeks a certified Substitute K-12 Special Education Teacher to support students remotely across the country. You will coordinate with Learning Coaches and school staff to ensure instructional plans are followed and progress is tracked.

The role is part-time with no benefits; you’ll work primarily from a home office, maintaining windows for communication, grading, and student support using LiveLessons and other tools.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid and active full state teaching certification.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
• Ability to obtain certification in other states as requested.
• Home-based, distraction-free workspace.
• Available Monday–Friday during school hours (typical 8:00 am–4:00 pm in school time zone) for long-term assignments.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.
• Familiarity with IEP/504 plans in a virtual setting.

Responsibilities

• Be online and available to students, parents, and staff from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm in the school’s time zone.
• Communicate regularly with families and teachers to update learning plans.
• Complete grading, progress reports, and parent conferences.
• Support learning via LiveLessons and other online tools.
• Maintain records, attendance, and student data.
• Collaborate with counselors and special educators to meet needs.
