Job summary

California Virtual Academies is seeking a High School Teacher- Technology to deliver standards-based online instruction to California students in a fully virtual setting. The role requires strong classroom management, timely feedback, and proactive engagement with learning coaches and families.

Teachers work Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm, Proctors and supports state testing, and maintains documentation in the online grade book. In-state credentials and eligibility are required for consideration.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a valid California single subject teaching credential with Industrial and Technology Education.
• California English Learner Authorization required; in-state residence preferred.
• Must meet CA credential requirements at time of application; out-of-state or in-progress credentials not accepted.

Responsibilities

• Orient students to courses and communicate requirements via email, phone, or online tools.
• Support homeroom students, monitor attendance and progress, and provide timely guidance.
• Deliver direct instruction in course content and participate in instructional coaching.
• Proctor state assessments and participate in required state testing and documentation.
• Collaborate with staff, organize orientation and school activities, and maintain regular family communications.
