Job summary

KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing seeks an experienced Virtual Designer (VD2) for a hybrid role in the Austin/Leander area. The job involves building 3D electrical models, producing shop drawings, and coordinating BIM with field teams and GCs.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in CAD/BIM for commercial construction, strong Revit experience, and familiarity with Navisworks Manage. NEC knowledge is a plus; electrical project experience is valued.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of CAD/BIM experience in commercial construction.
• Strong Autodesk Revit experience required.
• Experience with Navisworks Manage is required.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Electrical construction experience is a plus; NEC knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

We are recruiting for an experienced Virtual Designer (VD2) to join a leading electrical construction company in the Austin / Leander area.

This is a hybrid position – 3 days in the office and 2 days remote each week – supporting commercial, industrial, institutional, and large-scale electrical construction projects.

What You'll Do

• Build 3D electrical models using Revit and Navisworks
• Produce detailed electrical shop drawings
• Perform BIM coordination, clash detection, and resolution
• Follow GC-led BIM coordination through model sign-off
• Work closely with field superintendents, project teams, GCs, and MEP trades
• Produce bills of materials for procurement and labor tracking

What We're Looking For
