Job summary

KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing is seeking a Virtual Designer (VD2) for the Austin/Leander area. The role focuses on building detailed 3D electrical models using Revit and Navisworks, producing shop drawings, and coordinating BIM for complex commercial projects.

This hybrid position offers three days in the office and two days remote, with opportunities to mentor junior Detailers and grow within a growing VDC/BIM team.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years of CAD/BIM experience in commercial construction.
• Strong proficiency with Autodesk Revit.
• Experience with Navisworks.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Electrical construction experience is highly preferred.
• NEC knowledge or electrical field experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build detailed 3D electrical models using Revit and Navisworks.
• Produce electrical shop drawings for construction and installation.
• Perform BIM coordination, clash detection, and resolution.
• Coordinate with General Contractors, field teams, and MEP trade partners.

We Are Recruiting for a Virtual Designer (VD2) – Electrical Construction | Austin / Leander, TX

We are recruiting for an experienced Virtual Designer (VD2) to join a growing electrical construction team in the Austin / Leander area. This is a hybrid opportunity – 3 days in the office and 2 days remote each week – supporting complex commercial and large-scale electrical construction projects.

What You'll Do

• Build detailed 3D electrical models using Revit and Navisworks
