Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Salary: $85,000 – $115,000, depending on experience
Position Overview
SNI Technology is partnering with an established electrical construction organization to identify an experienced Electrical BIM/VDC Detailer for a fully remote opportunity.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong background working directly for an electrical contractor and hands‑on experience developing detailed, constructible models and drawings for large‑scale electrical scopes.
The successful candidate will serve as a key VDC resource on assigned projects, working closely with project management, field leadership, engineers, general contractors, and other trade partners to ensure electrical designs are accurately coordinated and ready for installation and prefabrication.
Important: Candidates must have experience detailing electrical construction scopes for an electrical contractor. Experience limited to MEP coordination, low‑voltage systems, or other specialty systems will not be a match.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D electrical models using Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
- Produce shop drawings, installation drawings, fabrication layouts, and other construction documentation.
- Act as the primary VDC point of contact for assigned projects.
- Participate in coordination meetings with general contractors, subcontractors, and other trades.
- Perform clash detection and resolution using Navisworks Manage.
- Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, structural, mechanical, and other project disciplines.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, superintendents, and field personnel to ensure models reflect project requirements and field conditions.
- Revise models and drawings based on RFIs, change orders, design revisions, and as-built information.
- Develop prefabrication plans and spool drawings using SysQue.
- Support field layout and installation activities through the use of Trimble Field Points, Total Stations, GPS equipment, and related technologies.
- Apply knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable industry standards while working under the direction of project leadership.
- Participate in BIM/VDC coordination efforts and help improve modeling and coordination processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, standardization, and automation within VDC/detailing workflows.
- Provide technical support to field operations and prefabrication teams as needed.
Qualifications
- Required: Professional experience working for an electrical contractor.
- Demonstrated experience detailing large-scale electrical construction scopes.
- Strong proficiency with Revit, Navisworks Manage, and AutoCAD.
- Experience with electrical BIM/VDC coordination and clash detection.
- Experience creating shop drawings, installation drawings, and/or prefabrication documentation.
- Experience with SysQue is strongly preferred.
- Understanding of electrical construction practices, constructability, and installation requirements.
- Working knowledge of NEC standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with project managers, field supervisors, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
- Candidates must be able to work within Eastern or Central Time Zone business hours.
