Job summary

International Rescue Committee seeks a Career Development Specialist to support newly arrived refugees through a nationwide virtual program. The role guides participants from intake to an individualized PAP, coordinating with staff to secure training, credential evaluation, and financial assistance.

Working remotely across states, you will maintain case records, ensure compliance with ORR reporting, and connect clients with local resources to advance their career goals.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in human services or nonprofit settings.
• Strong written and verbal communication for remote clients.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining confidentiality.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and video conferencing tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual outreach, intake, and enrollment for eligible participants.
• Coordinate with IRC offices and partners to connect participants with services.
• Develop an individualized Professional Advancement Plan (PAP) for each participant.
• Review PAPs to ensure funds meet ORR requirements and program guidelines.
• Provide ongoing navigation to training, credential evaluation, and recertification.
• Research career advancement opportunities across state labor markets.
• Maintain accurate case files in ETO and support ORR reporting requirements.
